What is Patata?
So, what is Patata?
Patata.homeip.net is an old home computing and datacenter project, started around 1997, before any 2.0 version of anything. All started up in the basement of a country house, with a coplue of old computers, some cables and an analog modem (not even a 56k). The small lab was already in place since some years, but only when the rates of remote dialup went flat Patata became alive as a service. The immediate need of being reached from everywhere (err, at that time just from where there was an internet connection..) lead to the registration of the domain at Dyndns. That domain is surviving since then, and the project have grown over any initial idea. The original founder is Osprey, but now also other people joined and collaborates to the project. Our firends are the #retrocomputing irc channel, Wide-net, ipv7.net, lupoland and many others.
Stay tuned and check around in the site for more information.
Sincerly
Osprey
